As follow up to our 1/13 CANDO meeting, below is the link to the survey regarding whether or not flexible grouping is taking place at your respective schools, and if so, at which grade levels and for which subjects. A short description of this model with BPS is available at the beginning of the survey. The survey should take one minute and we truly appreciate your input.

What is CANDO?

CANDO stands for Challenge Advocacy Network Development Organization.

Batavia CANDO is a parent organization which seeks to provide enrichment opportunities for children in need of greater academic challenge and peer interaction, encourages district and state support for gifted education, and provides programs and resources for parents about raising and educating talented children.

Why are we CANDO?
Illinois funding was eliminated from the state budget for gifted education in
2003, therefore reducing the District's program, prompting a greater need for
outside resources and enrichment through a voluntary channel coordinated by
parents with participation from the District Challenge coordinator. This group
is made up of parent volunteers in Batavia Public School District 101.

Join Us
There is always an aspect of CANDO that provides you with an opportunity to network with parents, learn the latest news and trends and contribute to your children’s future.

We’re in the process of discussing the current state of the programming in our district and what we can do to support our students and enhance their year with activities to enrich their experiences. Will you join us and share in the conversation and ideas?

Currnet CANDO Team
Your name could be here, too! The people listed below are parents who became interested and involved in CANDO a few years ago when our older children were in elementary school. Many of us have middle school students this year, and plenty of us still have younger students in elementary school.
